Cyclone Idai Wrecks Havoc in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi

A cyclone named Cyclone Idai, which originated from Mozambique on the 4th of March 2019, has taken over 700 lives, and affected over 3 million people.
Cyclone Idai caused severe flooding, and damages to lives and properties. Lot's of lives and properties have been lost. 


What is a cyclone?

A cyclone, hurricane, and a typhoon are basically the same thing. Great powerful rotating storms or winds. According to wikipedia:

Cyclones rotate clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere and anti-clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere. Cyclone is the general term for a variety of low pressure system types, such as tropical cyclones, extra tropical cyclones and tornadoes. ...Cyclones are also referred to as hurricanes and typhoons.









The international media seemed silent on these happenings, only recently has there been much attention paid to the unfolding disaster. Prayer hashtags have been raised on social media for africa and the affected countries.

Madagascar was also affected by the cyclone, but many people may not be aware of this.
